A book becomes a bestseller through a combination of factors, which can include: Sales volume, Marketing and publicity, Word-of-mouth and several other. Overall, becoming a bestseller is a combination of both quality and quantity - a well-written book that appeals to a wide audience, and a strategic marketing campaign that generates buzz and reaches a large number of potential readers.
Studying through various genres of books over the years I am sharing my personal observation which most of you will agree to. There are also few additional factors that can contribute to a book's success as a bestseller.
1- Genre: Certain genres, such as romance, mystery, and thriller, tend to have larger readerships and are more likely to produce bestsellers.
2-Book awards: Winning a prestigious book award, such as the Pulitzer Prize or the National Book Award, can increase a book's visibility and appeal to readers.
3-Sequels and series: Books that are part of a successful series or have a built-in fanbase are more likely to become bestsellers.
4-Cross-promotion: If a book is adapted into a movie or TV show, or if the author is interviewed on a popular TV show or podcast, it can increase the book's visibility and appeal to a wider audience.
5-Price promotions: Publishers may temporarily discount the price of a book to generate sales and attract readers.
It's also worth noting that the criteria for a book to become a bestseller can vary by region and market, and there is often some level of subjectivity involved. However, in general, a book that generates significant sales and buzz through a combination of these factors is more likely to achieve bestseller status.
